So Many Options: Advice from the LBJ Women's Campaign School's Executive Director (Women's Public Leadership Network)

This election cycle was historic. More women than ever before were elected to public office, and women across the country feel inspired and empowered to seek office themselves. But many don't know where to start. WPLN Director of Programs and Partnerships Sarah Curran met with LJB Women's Campaign School Executive Director Amy Kroll to discuss the work our training partner is doing in Texas, as well as what it takes for women to get involved with politics. The LBJ Women's Campaign School is a non-partisan, issue-neutral training program for women who want to get involved in politics at any level. Kroll offered some sage advice for women interested in getting involved.

Through its growing network of partners and rich offering of online resources, WPLN is pursuing its mission of bringing more voices to the table, equipping commonsense, pragmatic women to enter public office. During a recent release of half a million dollars of funding to state-based programs, the LBJ Women's Campaign School at the University of Texas was selected as an operational and program grant recipient.

The program launched virtually in June 2020 with an inaugural cohort of 50 female change makers from across the nation. These women will learn from the nation's top political experts in an immersive training program on topics including media relations, public speaking, fundraising and more.
