LBJ WOMEN’S CAMPAIGN SCHOOL OPENS APPLICATIONS FOR EIGHTH COHORT
LBJ Women’s Campaign School at The University of Texas at Austin invites prospective candidates and campaign managers to apply for its eighth cohort.
AUSTIN, TEXAS — The LBJ Women’s Campaign School, part of The Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin, is accepting applications for its eighth cohort. Since 2020, the campaign school’s training has provided comprehensive support for over 350 change-makers seeking to run for office or lead political campaigns, regardless of party affiliation. Today, 13 LBJWCS alumni serve in elected offices all over the country, and more than 60 graduates have appeared on the ballot.
Cohort 8 will kick off the program over MLK Weekend in January 2027 with a three-day intensive training in Austin, Texas, followed by a six-month virtual curriculum and an in-person graduation in June. Participants will be provided hands-on training from the nation’s top political experts and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with their fellow cohort members and assigned mentors. These relationships will support and guide participants as they gain the critical skills needed to run successful campaigns and lead in the political arena.

The Center for Women in Government at the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership at Texas Woman’s University offers competitive reimbursement awards covering 100% of tuition for eligible Texas residents. This support helps ensure that aspiring leaders from all socioeconomic backgrounds can participate in the LBJ Women's Campaign School, breaking down financial barriers for women in public life.
