1. What inspired you to apply to the LBJ Women's Campaign School, and what were you hoping to gain from the experience?
I have had the privilege of working for two incredibly strong Congresswomen and learning from brilliant female mentors on Capitol Hill! I wanted to continue my education and learn how campaigns work so that I can better support other women in office. After the program, I had a better understanding of what it meant to campaign, build a team, and reach across the aisle.
2. How did your experience at LBJWCS influence your career path?
This fall, I will be helping out on my first campaign! I'm looking forward to applying the skills the LBJ Women's Campaign School gave me to support the GOP this election cycle. After the midterms, I would love to take these skills and work on a presidential campaign!
3. What is one moment, speaker, or lesson from Campaign School that has stayed with you and continues to influence your work today?
On Capitol Hill, I'm surrounded by various beliefs and political thoughts, but I'm usually on the receiving end - I listen and pass the message on to my boss. This program helped me learn how to better articulate my political beliefs, which is important as politics has become more and more polarizing over the past decade.
4. What would you say to someone who is considering applying to the LBJ Women's Campaign School but isn't sure if they're ready?
If you are interested in working on a campaign or running for office, this program will help you find your seat at the table. Do it.
